For boat fishing, Fathom weighs wind, swell size and period, tide, water temperature, air pressure and which way it's heading, moon phase and time of day, wherever that data is available. Dawn and dusk score better than the middle of the day.
Land-based fishing leans much harder on swell, wind and tide, because those decide what's happening on the rocks and jetties.
